Our Objectives
To serve as the international multidisciplinary forum for the exchange of information and the advancement of ambulatory surgery.
To encourage the development and expansion of high-quality ambulatory surgery.
To stimulate the formation of national associations for ambulatory surgery.
To promote education and training in ambulatory surgery for surgeons, anaesthetists and nurses.
To encourage the multi-disciplinary nature of ambulatory surgery practice.
To stimulate research in ambulatory surgery.
To disseminate relevant research in the IAAS peer reviewed international journal, Ambulatory Surgery.
To maintain a database for information on ambulatory surgery, anaesthesia and nursing.
To develop international guidelines for the practice of ambulatory surgery.
To organise seminars and conferences on ambulatory surgery.
To communicate the benefits of ambulatory surgery to patients and health professionals
To establish relationships with other associations or groups with an interest in ambulatory surgery.
To collaborate with and advise policy makers and healthcare bodies worldwide, to advance ambulatory surgery as a high quality, patient focused healthcare option.
